Thread: Sharing house with alt characters. Sharing house with alt characters It would be cool if they adjusted housing so that if you have alts they are able to teleport to a house you already own on the same server. It's been requested many times since the new housing rules went into effect.

Perhaps we'll see it happen with the next expansion. I would imagine the main problem is the limit on the number of tenants we can add to our homes since some players have more alts than the tenant limit can handle.

They'd have to change the programming to either increase the tenant limit or turn alts into owners not counted toward the limit. It would be nice if they would allow us to add alts to our friends list as well. Too many players are already using shell FCs to get around item sharing restrictions if SE's intent behind the restriction is to get players to buy more retainers. Certainly it does nothing to hinder RMT activity since shell FCs are more easily created by the gold sellers with their multiple usually compromised accounts than normal players with a single account.

I don't even have a house yet. My main and my alts squat in the streets of Lominsa and U'ldah like well armored and stylishly dressed hobos. I wish they would also implement this as well! It's annoying trying to move bound furniture from my mains house to my alts apt who is in a different fc.

I have to have both characters share a friend's house, and use it as a Midway transfer point. It really sucks. Originally Posted by CainCrimson. Originally Posted by Kittypryde. Apartment Housing I want a room like the inn, but one I can customize. I'd like for there to be a new kind of lot in the housing areas where you can find a huge building, and in it have a lobby where people can interact and perhaps play games introduced in future patches. Then we can interact with a door that takes you to this room that you can purchase one time and it's yours for good.

But of course, let the stuff from your inn room transfer to this room too. It be nice to log out there and wake up the next day, exit to the lobby and find people just logging in, saying hello to your neighbors.

This is a cheaper setup for people who don't want a big fancy house or a room in their FC. Would be nice, considering Phantasy Star Online 2 has something like this as well. I actually support this idea, but they'd have to give some sort of advantage to having an FC private chambers over this.

Instanced rooms are probably the only way SE can salvage the mess that is housing as it currently is. Having personal rooms gated behind FC housing was a terrible idea, even the largest FC's fade into obscurity after several years. Personal housing is far from being available for everyone, the plots available are nowhere near numerous enough to supply even a decent percentage of server population. I bought an FC room out of curiosity, then figured it was a waste of time and money.

It's just "there" for people to walk in and admire how much money you've thrown away. I know some people may take this personal, but it's true. I have more fun in my inn room playing with the toy box, interacting with my retainers and sometimes getting a haircut. I just imagine how much more fun would it be to customize the room and invite friends in to play games, chat or whatever.

Also, sleep in my room and wake up the next day. I guess it's a big deal for me to feel like I have my own place in a game, a place I can certainly feel proud of, and the FC room is just something that doesn't make any sense to me. This question was actually addressed in a recent interview, and they basically said the issue is that instances aren't saved, and since people will generally want to be able to do all the things a normal house can do anyway both now and into the future, like airship building, etc.

Of course, on busy servers, they'll need to add a ton of capacity to do that. In terms of the "cheaper" issue I think they simply don't have a vision for housing being something that's for everyone, but rather they want people to see it as an investment they work towards in end-game and a bit of a gold sink.

The reverse auction would help with pricing if there were enough supply which there now is on some worlds, but not others. Originally Posted by polyphonica. This website uses cookies. If you do not wish us to set cookies on your device, please do not use the website.

Please try the process again after 90 days have elapsed. I made the character back in August so it has been over days at this point.

I have done everything else removed items for sale, left FC, etc. I have checked the world status for both worlds and they are standard and not closed to transfers. I'm not sure why it claims that my character isn't 90 days old yet, but I'd like for this flag to be changed so I can transfer it to Excalibur and play with my friends. This is an issue we have noticed with players on preferred worlds. However, this kind of problem requires access to your account information, something we cannot discuss in a public setting.

For further assistance on this matter, please contact the Square Enix Support Center directly. How exactly do I contact support with phone or live chat? The first thing I did was go to the support and open up a ticket, but the only option is 'e-mail support'. When I used that and opened a ticket I got an automated message back that just directed me to the forums.

I tried replying back to them twice during business hours to see if I could get an actual response, but I just get the same 'Submit a bug report on the forums. Of course, here is some information that will help get in contact with us: To reach our live chat support please follow the steps below.

Opencv based embedded projects

Can't give and my alt character access to my private house Due to housing tenants being friends only Is there anyway to fix this to an alt access? Nope, SE hates alts - can't mail them and can't share a house with them. I know a few people that were able to add their alts to their friendlist yes on same account due to a bug that existed back near the start of ARR.

The bug that allowed this was patched so it's no longer possible to take advantage of it. I think the fact that some people are able to have their alts on their friendslist and some are not is a little unfair and should either be patched so these players alts are removed from friendlists or make it so everyone can do this. Of course the players that can do this are never going to report themselves as taking advantage of an exploit because they have a huge convenience that is normally impossible and don't want to lose it.

I just think it should be known that inequality exists and something should be done about it. Agreed, SE needs to let you share your house with your same-account alt characters.

I can't see why SE haven't thought of this. It would actually alleviate the issue of players buying up housing plots on alts if we were limited to one house per server per account, and all alts on the same server could be easily if not automatically listed as tenants in that house.

That would have freed up a handful more plots anyway Originally Posted by Sakuraluna. SE cares very little about this or any other shortcoming related to housing or alt QoL. Agreed completely unfair that you can't share with your alts. There is no reason you shouldn't be able to.

The two players bought their homes in a formerly vacant corner of the game, a server called Mateus, where they could pursue dual ambitions of opulence and privacy.

That criticism has gotten ugly as players hotly debate whether their elitism—or desire for mass amounts of property—has any place in a game where everybody pays the same fee. But in the intervening years, housing has become a contentious topic in the game as speculators and thick-pocketed players monopolized property on big servers.

Players paste ornate wallpaper to their walls, fill rooms with carved wood chests and candles and decorate with garlands and gold trimming. Fur rugs, wall-to-wall bookshelves, portraits and hot tubs garnish the homes of more thick-pocketed players who choose to sink their resources in home decor.

Smaller apartments remain available too, but without the grandeur of a garden or street entrance and on some servers, houses are still available. There, not even apartments, the less sought-after housing option, remain on the market.

Over e-mail, a Square Enix representative told Kotaku that players are only able to purchase one house per character. At that point, it was one of the only servers with a wealth of land. Mateus, which was unofficially designated a new role-playing server and was still a pristine and cheap housing frontier, was quickly full of home-scouters.

Eventually, the housing options in that server filled up, too. When incoming transfers realized that they could no longer purchase plots on Mateus, of all places, and noticed that two players owned a plush 28 plots, accusations of greed and unfeeling avarice spread. Altima estimates that their 28 homes, the majority of an entire ward, cost around million gil. It took a lot of time. They feel that even knowing there are only 2, plots soon to be 2, on any given server, they can and should be allowed to go at their own pace and have free access to any content they like, including housing.

There, they fielded my questions while we toured through their saccharine two-floor cake shop, picture-perfect schoolyard, somber church to the FFXIV deity Zodiark and many, many gardens. Igeyorhm excitedly pointed out ice crystal formations and bubbling fountains between dives into hand-designed underground libraries and the like.

I asked whether home construction was something she pursued in other games. Is it the richer players, or the ones with more free time to grind out crafting exp, who are more entitled to take up space? They paused. Of course, some players still think they should be able to get those houses. The A. Shop Subscribe. Read on.
